Ian Hamilton-Finlay - Printed Cards






A group of 19 printed cards of various sizes and shapes, which were sent in the 1980's by Ian Hamilton Finlay to Peter Townsend, who had been editor of Studio International, during its heyday in the 1960's. Includes 3 handwritten addressed envelopes, some with extra rubber-stamped exhortations, plus a handwritten note from Finlay. The cards include Thoughts on Waldemar( 15 of the 16 cards, lacking Thought No. 4), The Enlightenment, I Was Published By Jonathan Cape, The Desmoulins Connection (in 2 versions) Barr* Le Traitre Lis Ta Sentence, Mr. Greene and the White Brigands, Menu A La Carte, Sticker for Victory, HEAD LEY, Two Visions, According To The National Trust, Saint-Just Vigilantes celebrate, A One-Word Poem etc. All very good.
